Moving:Problematic Situation

You and your family have lived in the same house your whole life. You like your neighborhood and your best friend lives across the street. Your grandparents live in your town and you get to see your cousins every week at a big Sunday dinner. However, things start to get harder in your town. Your dad has lost his job and both of your parents have started to work at odd jobs to get money for food. Your parents tell you one day that you have a chance to leave your town and go to a better place, where they will be able to have good jobs and you will live in a nicer house. The only catch is that you have to leave right away.

You only have time to say goodbye to three people. Who do you want to find and why?

Your parents tell you that this new place is very different, but you don't know how it will be different. What three things will you take to remind you of your life in your hometown and why?

You can only take three personal possessions. Your parents have sold your furniture to get extra money for travel. What three things will you take and why?

When you arrive, the people in the new place will speak a different language. If you can find people who speak the same language as you, what are the first three phrases you will ask them to teach you and why?
