In the Writing Center, your students can receive one-on-one writing help with a trained tutor. In a collaborative environment, tutors offer help with all the stages of the writing process: brainstorming, research, organization, drafting, and revision. During tutorials, tutors suggest ideas for development, point out potential problems, and reinforce proper format usage. In addition to tutorial sessions, students can request handouts on a variety of subjects relating to the writing process.
You can be informed about your students' visits to the Writing Center by asking them to fill out a Goldenrod after the tutoring session. On the form, tutors include brief comments about the proceedings of the tutorial, which may help in evaluating each student's progress and in keeping track of student visits. These forms will be sent to you weekly through campus mail. They are intended to be a confidential communication between you and the tutor and should not be handed back to students.
