Students in the creative writing emphasis will learn and develop the techniques of established writers. The program includes writing workshops along with coursework in theory and literature. Faculty members are widely published and specialize in poetry, fiction, and creative nonfiction. Students work closely with faculty members and are mentored through the process of completing a creative thesis: a book-length volume of their creative writing.
