Society Committees

A tool that is used to accomplish our mission is that of committees. Below is information on the society's currently operating committees.

  • Brown Bag Committee

Every month we get a great opportunity to hear a special and intriguing lecture from one of BYU's professors. This commitee helps plan and organize the Brown Bag events and help ensure nobody falls asleep.

  • Service Committee

ES officers work with the community and with university organizations to organize and plan service projects. Service is an important facet of a student's BYU experience. The ES will seek to plan projects that will provide students the opportunity to make a difference.

  • Activities Committee

English students study hard. They should play hard, too. The ES's social committee sponsors activities that help students develop ties to other students and relax from their busy schedules. BBQ's, talent shows, open mic nights, socials, competitions, and movies are appropriate activities.

  • Publicity Committee

Accurate and timely communication of events and opportunities for the ES usually determines whether an event is a success or a failure. This committee helps to manage communication channels, including web announcements, mass emails, students making announcements of events in classes, teacher and faculty support, and web resources.

  • Advertising Committee

Events need advertising! This committee works with the Publicity and Activities committee to create beautiful fliers and poster and then distribute them across campus so that people show up to our fun events!
