About the MA Program

BYU’s two-year MA program is an opportunity to study in depth American Literature, British Literature, Transatlantic Literature, Folklore, Latino Literature, Asian Literature and ethnic/oceanic studies, as well as Rhetoric and Composition pedagogy. Each student’s program is hand crafted to meet individual specific needs and goals. Nationally recognized faculty conduct intimate seminars on selected research topics and students work closely with them to create a publishing-ready thesis upon completion of their degree. Additionally, all graduate students are given the opportunity to interview and apply to teach Freshman Composition, a strong addition to any resume.
