Amy Williams specializes in rhetoric, discourse analysis, and composition theory and pedagogy. Her research uses affect theory, critical theory, discourse analysis, and ethnography to understand students’ experiences with writing. She is particularly interested in the composing experiences of students who are underrepresented in higher education. Dr. Williams received an M.Ed. in education, culture, and society and a Ph.D. in communication with a writing and rhetoric emphasis, both from the University of Utah. She spends her non-academic hours exploring Utah’s mountain trails with her husband and four children.
