Jonathan Garcia is a visiting assistant teaching professor at BYU. He teaches Writing & Rhetoric and Technical Communication courses. He earned a B.A. in American Studies from BYU, worked for 18 months as a paralegal in Salt Lake City, and then returned for an M.A. in rhetoric and composition. His thesis investigated how law students develop writing expertise during summer internships. Currently serving as the associate course coordinator of Writing & Rhetoric, Jonathan enjoys working with both talented colleagues and students.
His research interests include rhetorical theory, pedagogy, online learning, writing program administration, and legal writing. He and his wife Mandy are the parents of one daughter, Grace.
