The Susan Cooper Homepage
The Susan Cooper Homepage. Ed. Mark Scott. http://missy.shef.ac.uk/~emp94ms/
This is the Susan Cooper Homepage. It is excellent because it has links to a biography of Susan Cooper, an auotbiograhpy of her, sketches of The Dark is Rising, a "Frequently Asked Questions" section, and pictures with descriptions of wales. The site is easy to move around in and a great source for extra material about Susan Cooper and her book. The Booklist Interview
Rochman, Hazel. "The Booklist Interview." Booklist 94 (1997): 226-227
I chose this source because it gives background of Susan Cooper's life and how she writes. My other interview talks more about why she used the Arthurian Legend and I thought this one gives a lot of information about how Susan Cooper seees herself as an author. It also talks about recieving fan mail and I thought students might find it interesting to hear what authors think about the letters they recieve from their readers.Interview with Susan Cooper
Interview with Susan Cooper.Raymond H. Thompson. http://www.lib.rochester.edu/camelot/intrvws/cooper.htm
This site has an interview with Susan Cooper about the use of the Arthurian Legends in her The Dark is Rising series. How she incorporated the myth into her books is fascinating. It offers great background for how things that she had learned about at school and through reading worked their way into her imagination. She says that she did not purposely incorporate the myth by that it just happened.Map Navigation

This site shows Buckinghamshire, which is where Susan Cooper grew up. I put in this site so that you can see that Aylesbury is in the same area of England as Burnham. Burnham is the town Susan Cooper grew up in.Novels
