Plot:
An trash-filled lot in inner city Cleveland becomes
transformed into a community garden which begins with just one
girl and spreads to the entire neighborhood.

Chain of Events
The initiating event:
Kim plants a lima bean seed in the vacant lot in her neighborhood
in Cleveland in honor of her dead father.
An internal response:
An old woman named Ana sees Kim in the vacant lot and wants to find out why she is there. She sends Wendell down to the lot to investigate and he decides to plants some seeds, too.
An attempt:
Leona sees that the vacant lot could become a community garden, but it is still filled with trash. She makes phone calls and finally visits the city offices with the trash to convince the city to remove it.
An outcome:
The garbage gets moved, and Sam, a man who tries to create unity amid differences, is able to become involved in the garden.
A resolution:
The vacant lot becomes a community garden where Kim, Ana, Wendell, Gonzalo, Leona, Sam, Virgil, Sae Young, Curtis, Nora, Maricella, Amir, Florence and others work and talk and laugh together every day of the week.
