Young Adult Novelist Conference (YANCON) at BYU

YANCON is an incredible opportunity for BYU undergraduate students who are interested in writing young adult novels. It’s a free conference where you can learn about craft, drafting, revision, and publishing from BYU graduate students, professors, and published authors. The conference will include

• Daily keynote speakers, each one a published author, followed by a book signing. • Daily breakout sessions on craft, drafting, revision, and publishing. • One-on-one manuscript critiques with a graduate student. • Peer writing groups. • Raffles to win books and other prizes.

HOW TO SIGN UP: Admittance to YANCON is dependent upon your application. Space at the conference is limited, so we encourage all to apply and send in your best writing sample. Applications are due May 1st and selected students will be notified in June. To apply, visit
